If you could turn back the time

Posted by John | dimanche 27 février 2011 | Category: , | 0 commentaires

If you could go back in time, would you? And to where would you go? Some would say quite commonly they would try to correct their mistakes, but sometimes you can also repair your mistakes without necessarily going back. Others would say instead that each of their errors made them advance in life to be what they are today.

On this question we have often asked ourselves, and which has often been treated in literature or movies, Marina found a text (see below) containing some pretty interesting and fun ideas. And, she's happy to share it with us. Indeed, this could help to feed our thoughts on life that one leads more generally. Do we really enjoy the moments we live, even taking a second in our hectic life to take a step back and appreciate all this? She would say this article could help each of us to find an answer to this question.

Going back to the past, it's not possible. That's why it is necessary to move forward without regrets, without nostalgia, with a lucid glance on crossed things on which we have no more grip. Only the memories remain and fleeting sensations invade us at their simple evocations! Then, belligerent, we have to be in spite of the likely falls, in spite of moments of bitterness... And more than ever, to remember moments of enjoyment in life with the music that accompanies it, making us happy and smiling.

Each has to find his own answer to this question and so define his way of living. "Hier fait déjà partie du passé et je ne vivrai pas dans le passé!" To say to oneself, in the end, that we had fun and spent a full and beautiful life might be the answer that every one aspire.

A chronicle about Valentine's day

Posted by John | mardi 15 février 2011 | Category: , | 4 commentaires

Falling on a Monday, Valentines' Day 2011 was made discrete this year. With the roses that invaded some shops, advertisements on radio and television and posters at every street corner, it was nevertheless difficult to miss this event. Valentine was formerly constitued of a declaration of love written by the boyfriend or girlfriend and a present made by the said lover. Nowadays, all that is left behind for gifts; it's like a mini-Christmas.

Also, the sites offer a service of virtual cards with messages of love each more beautiful than each other. Indeed, many people do not feel being like a poet and then are ashamed of their handwriting. For example, "I'm looking for answers, I find your smile." There is also "Each day without you and my heart crumbles into melancholy" and " Words mourn their inability to face my love." These last two are good for the Dracula inside you, love being dramatic and partially dead.

"When one loves, one doe not count!" According to a new dating site, the lovers are far more generous in the U.S than in France. The majority of French people is willing to pay between 20 to 40€ (59%) to please their partner for Valentine's Day, when Americans (60%) are easily up to 60 or 80€. The French rely on sound values, traditional gifts: flowers (22%), restaurant (19%) or chocolate, jewelry, perfume or watch (8%). These gifts are mostly symbolic. Valentine's Day has a commercial connotation that often annoys the French...

Love is so now marketing that a feast of love is less important. Now, love is almost programmed, the festival has a little side compulsory... However, doesn't love need to be celebrated? A feast of love is a bit beta, love, it is lived every day, every night, all life. A single day to say I'm in love is a bit suspect, those who celbrate Valentine's Day may have something to be forgiven)))

If there is an attractive idea, it is to celebrate love every day, instead of reserving the little touches to the single day of 14 February. But then, if in theory this idea fills us, in practice it is rarely enforced. Make around you a quick survey : how many women regularly receive a bouquet of flowers from their lover? How many of them receive a daily message of love?

It is for women that this tradition of Valentine's Day has its raison d'être, for women who are affected by the attention that they lavish... but are too rare. One day a year to think about the cover of flowers or soft words, it is a minimum, otherwise it's a safe bet that many women would spend the year without any bouquet! So let's be clear: will be exempt from Valentine only the champions of daily attentions! For others, no excuses will be accepted! ;)

Unusual Paris

Posted by John | vendredi 4 février 2011 | Category: , | 0 commentaires

Paris is known for its history, its highlights, its atmosphere which gave it its nickname "City of Lights." However, the city is still full of little secrets, places and amazing characters that help to give a particular image and yet unknown. As you beyond the beaten track, you will see and discover the real Paris either. Colorful characters, extravagant shows here or there. They know their play so that you do not go unnoticed: surprise, shock, challenge, move sometimes. In short, they lead us to contemplate them and break the indifference that is often evidence, this is their common point.

City of museums, exhibitions, art history, anyone sensitive to these areas will be charmed by all that the city can offer. In an open and curious mind, I sometimes let myself into one of those universes that tell the life of yesterday or reflect our contemporary society and its evolution. Thus, in 2010, I was pleasantly surprised and amused by an outdoor exhibit devoted to toilets in the world. Held at bastille, this event was a unique way for us to realize the cultural differences and economic developments of our era. While heavily loaded with colorful and humorous pictures.

See Paris in a pod, 150 meters, floats in the air and watch the sky train, barges on the Seine, the secret gardens on rooftops, the Eiffel Tower, Trocadero and the Invalides. This exciting experience allows children and older people, in a fun and adventuturous way, to contemplate the capital and develop their aesthetic sensibility. Meet at Parc André Citroën to live this moment, rather short (10 minutes) but unforgettable.

The viaduc des Arts, a railroad's brick-and-stone viaduct that carried suburban trains until the 70s, offers a chance to take a break from city sidewalk and street traffic while seeing how historic preservation and modern urban-design objectives can work in harmony. Along the promenade in small wooded paths with their tunnels that give all their charm to this trip, you'll see how the city continues to grow and develop, combining the old and the new in wxays that can bring excitement and vitality to neighborhoods that are off the main tourist circuit.

Canal St-Martin, the Parc de Bercy, the Lutetia arena (one of the few vestiges of the Roman era in Paris), the view over the Seine and the Ile St-Louis from the terrace of the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Parc des Buttes Chaumont and Belleville with their breathtaking views, and others that I forget ... All of these destinations will help you to feel this unusual Paris.
